SAN ANTONIO (July 23, 2012) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) bowling team has added new team members, a new coaching staff and additional tournaments as it prepares for the upcoming season that begins in the fall.

The Saints will return 18 bowlers from last year's squad, including senior captain Julian Carranza and freshman standout Yosenia Raso.  In addition to the returning players, 12 new bowlers from throughout San Antonio, have joined the team. Their additions will make the team stronger and ready for conference play.

Brandon McCann and Xavier Tuggerson are two additons to the Saiints men's team, who were members of the Taft High School State Championship team from last April.  Dana Maureschat is one of the six women coming to OLLU and is considered to be a high quality bowler in the San Antonio region; she will add knowledge and leadership to the women's team. As these bowlers join the returning roster, the expectations for the OLLU Saints Bowling Team are strong.

Also bringing new charisma to the team are three new assistant coaches added to the coaching staff that consists of Head Coach Ernest Silva II, Adviser Adrienne Rodriguez and three other consulting advisers.

Brian Silva was the bowling head coach at Stevens High School for six years and has had various district championship teams.  He will be the assistant coach for the women's team. Tony Lozano was the assistant coach at O'Connor High School three years ago and is coming back into bowling to help assist with the men's and women's team. Chris Benavides is the owner of the pro shop, Lotta Strikes, and is knowledgeable in the field of sport patterns and equipment.  His main focus is the entire team's ability during sport shot play and recruiting.  These three men will coach and mentor the Saints into the winning brackets in competitive bowling tournaments.
