WACO, TEXAS (July 27, 2012) -- The Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) announced its GPA award recipients today. The awards recognize the schools and students who performed the best in the classroom during the 2011-2012 academic year. Schools submitted the cumulative grade-point average of all student-athletes competing in RRAC-sanctioned sports for the most recent year.

Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) had 49 student-athletes recognized this past season. Included in the list are additional student-athletes from the men's and women's tennis teams -- tennis is not an RRAC-sanctioned sport, but is in the NAIA-unaffiliated category.

Individual student-athletes who achieved a 3.0 GPA or better for the year are recognized below.
 

Soccer's Emily Backus and Rebekah Valenta, and volleyball's Bryttany Willoughby earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Those earning a 3.9-3.5 include: Brittany Stone, Juan "Eddie" OrtizAaron Flores, Alyssa Mora, Abby DuLaney, Lauren Schultz, Victoria Vazquez, Leslie Cooper, Amanda Bonds, Nikole Gase, Liza Rodriguez, Norma Fraga, Santiago Padilla V, Meagan Potts, Aaron Rodriguez, Jessica Perez, Tasha Yancey, Brandis HurtJavier Lopez, Maegan Ramirez, Cindy Lima and Chelsea Solis.

The following earned GPAs between 3.4 and 3.0: Robert Alexe, Nashae Owens, Amanda Lozano. Audrey Alba Jennifer Herrera, Edgar Ramos, Arlene Carrillo, Michelle Reyes, Luis Rovira, Kassandra Espinoza, Salim Sandoval. Luis Octavio Herrera, Desirea Aguilar, Jordan Gillhespy-Edison, Matt Ellis, Jack Martinez, Alyssa Salcido, Bianca Ramirez, Marcus Thompson, Evelyn Robledo, Marcelo ChapaOscar Valencia, Hernan Ramirez, Marcel Campos, Stephanie Rodriguez, Alexandria DeLuna, Brianna Burtone, Ricardo Zanini, Kaitlyn Bourg, Patricia Underwood, Juan Arteaga, Aaron Guerrero and Author "AJ" Govan.

The women's soccer team earned the top OLLU GPA with a combined 3.11 GPA. Women's tennis and volleyball were next with a team 2.99 GPA. Women's cross-country finished with a 2.95 GPA. Men's soccer, softball, men's tennis, men's basketball, women's basketball, golf and men's cross-country followed.
