AUSTIN, TEXAS (Dec. 8, 2012) -- Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's basketball team pushed through its ninth consecutive win Saturday afternoon with a 85-55 victory over Huston-Tillotson University.

The win moves the Saints to 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the Red River Athletic Conference, while Huston-Tillotson drops to 3-8 overall and 2-3 in conference.

Head Coach Christopher Minner said, "It was a great rebounding effort by our post players. It was a physical game, and we responded well in the second half. Jennifer Davison, Alisha Crump and Treshenia Solomon did a great job on the boards and matched their physicality. We are becoming more balanced every game."

The Lady Rams took a 7-0 lead before the Saints could put their first points on the board at the 17th minute.  OLLU then went on a 11-0 run to take over the lead at 15-9. The game stayed close for the next 13 minutes until Nikkia Davis (pictured at right) recovered a rebound off her missed fouled shot. A cross-court pass to Jennifer Davison under the basket gave the Saints the 28-27 lead.  Davis committed a turnover, but again recovered the ball to pass to Davison, whose spin move resulted in another basket to push the Saints to 30-27. The Saints took their biggest lead with 23 seconds remaining in the half after a pair of free throws from Alisha Crump (pictured at left) went in. The half ended with the Saints' 36-32 lead.

The Lady Rams scored the first three points of the second half, but the Saints continued to control the momentum. By the 13th minute, they had taken a double-digit lead at 53-43. OLLU would lead by as much as 32 points and ended the game with the 85-55 win.

OLLU forced 28 turnovers while giving the ball up 16 times. The Saints shot 43 percent from the field, including 24 percent from 3-point range and 57 percent from the free throw line.

HTU shot 34 percent from the field, 31 percent from 3-point range and 42 percent from the free-throw line.

Davis was the game's leading scorer with 22 points. She added eight rebounds, eight assists and three steals. Nashae Owens scored 14 points and added three assists and three steals. Davison recorded 13 points and eight rebounds.

High scorer for HTU was Kendra Venzant, who finished with 18 points.
