Eddie Ortiz is a senior from San Antonio.

WACO, TEXAS (Dec. 17, 2012) -- Juan "Eddie" Ortiz  of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) received Red River Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week honors for the dates of Dec. 10-16. Rodney Milum of LSU Shreveport was also honored.
 

Ortiz, a senior guard from San Antonio, established a new school record with nine three-pointers in a 104-90 triumph over Jarvis Christian College in the Saints only game of the week. His record came on 11 attempts from behind the three-point arc en route to a career-high 27 points. OLLU improved to 5-1 in conference play and 6-5 on the season in the process.

Ortiz joined the Saints team during its inaugural season in 2009. He excels in the classroom as well earning a variety of scholarships and internships, as well as receiving scholar athlete honors from the conference. Ortiz is majoring in accounting.
