WAXAHACHIE, TEXAS (Feb. 21, 2013) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's basketball team ended its regular season on Thursday night with an 88-95 loss to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU).

The Saints finish at 18-12 overall and 14-8 in the Red River Athletic Conference. SAGU (25-3/18-2) is two games ahead in first place over LSU-Shreveport (21-5/16-4) and three games over the University of St. Thomas (22-6/15-5). Texas College (20-8/13-7)  is tied with OLLU for fourth place. All five teams have clinched a playoff berth in the conference tournament.
 

Robert Martinez led the Saints in scoring with 26 points, including 9-of-23 from the field, 5-of-15 from 3-point range and 3-of-6 from the free throw line. Lo'Ron Smith scored 14 points, and AJ Govan had 13 points.

The Saints shot 38 percent from the field, 28 percent from 3-point range and 70 percent from the free-throw line. They committed 24 turnovers.

The Lions shot 41 percent from the field, 26 percent from 3-point range and 64 percent from the free-throw line. They committed 23 turnovers. Their high scorer was Dominique Rambo, who finished with 33 points. Nathanial Ward scored 10 points and added 11 rebounds.

The Saints will await conference opponents to finish their schedules this weekend to determine what seed they will be at the conference tournament that begins March 1 in Waxahachie. The second round will take place on March 2, and the finals will be held on March 4.
