
SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 26, 2013) – Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) senior golfer Aaron Flores has won the San Antonio Shootout at the TPC San Antonio. He shot a 2-under-par 70 today for a two-round 148. The tournament was won by sponsor, Oklahoma City University, which carded a two-round 607 (312/295).
Oklahoma Christian University came in second place with a two-round 608, and the Saints finished third just one stroke behind at 609.
The tournament had to be stopped yesterday in the second round due to excessive wind. At the end of the day, the Saints were in fifth place with a score of 322, and Flores was tied for sixth place with a 6-over-par 78.
Saints' John Mulholland came back from a first-round 80 to finished at 3-under-par 69 to end in third place. Nicolas Chacon was tied for fourth place with a 5-over-par 77 to finish at 1-over-par 73 and fourth place. Dustin Blair also improved from a first round 87 to a 3-over-par 75. Larry Lopez finished at 91.
Following OLLU in fourth place was Johnson & Wales E-Florida with a 616. Next was Rogers State University, 628, followed by the University of St. Thomas, 634; Lubbock Christian University, 636; Southwestern College, 638; the University of Texas at Brownsville, 639; Northwood University, 639; University of Texas – Pan American, 644; Oklahoma Christian University II, 644; and the University of Houston at Victoria, 648.
The Saints' next tournament is set for March 4 in Dallas, Texas. The 2013 NAIA Contender will be sponsored by Northwood University at TPC Las Colinas.
