SAN ANTONIO (March 11, 2013) -- Tanis Martinez of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) has been named the conference Player of the Week for March 4-10.

The Saints compete as independents since the Red River Athletic Conference does not sponsor the sport of tennis.

On March 7, at the No. 3 position, Martinez won his singles match against Temple College's Dalton Woodfin. He won 6-1 and 6-2. Paired up with AJ Gallardo, the two won their doubles match against Todd Barrajas and Eddie Galvan by the score of 8-2.

On March 8, Martinez won his match 6-2 and 6-0 against Jack Kunde from Austin College.  Paired again with Gallardo, the two won their doubles match 8-3.

Martinez's record so far this season is 3-3 in singles and 3-3 in doubles.

Martinez, a freshman from Carrizo Springs, Texas, is majoring in business administration at OLLU.
