SAN ANTONIO (April 2, 2013) -- Matt Ellis of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) has been named the conference Player of the Week for March 25-31.

The Saints compete as independents since the Red River Athletic Conference does not sponsor the sport of tennis.

On March 29, at the No. 2 position, Ellis won his singles match against Lewis & Clark's Daniel Hahm, 6-1 and 6-1. Paired up with Luis Rovira, the two won their doubles match against Daniel Hahm and Kevin Ross by the score of 8-4.

Ellis' record so far this season is 6-2 in singles and 6-2 in doubles.

Ellis, a sophomore from El Paso, Texas, is majoring in business management at OLLU.
