Gabriela Lopez received conference honors this week.

WACO, TEXAS (Sept. 24, 2013) -- Gabriela Lopez of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) corralled the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor for Sept. 16-22.

Lopez, a freshman goalkeeper from New Braunfels, Texas, posted two victories while allowing just one goal last week. She recorded a shutout for a 1-0 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and she pulled down four saves as OLLU upset NAIA No. 12 Oklahoma City University, 2-1. The Saints climbed to 7-1-1 overall.
 

Lopez is a graduate of New Braunfels High School. In the nine games she has played, she has recorded 22 saves. In those nine games, the Saints have won four, lost one and tied one with Lopez guarding the net. She ranks fifth in the conference in saves.

Teegan Luckemeyer of OLLU was an additional offensive player nominee.
