The Saints traveled to Waxahachie, Texas, on Thursday, to take on Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Ollu's offense, rated no. 1 in the conference, was on fire once again as the men beat the Lions 112-107, improving their record to 7-2 and 11-8 overall. The team led by 20 points at the end of the first half, and SAGU staged a comeback to come within three points, but the Saints persevered.

The Saints shot 69% from the field and they were able to take advantage of SAGU's 31 turnovers to secure the win.

Averaging 14.9 points per game, Robert Martinez once again led the Saints in scoring with 28, making five of six field goals. Dionelle Rucker scored 24 - he's the conference leader in field goals made (92 of 146 -- .630). Ricardo Zanini, fresh from his season-best 31-points against Wiley College on Monday, scored 19 points against SAGU. Others scoring in double-digits were Eddie Ortiz, 14 and Aleksandar Tomic, 13. Both Rucker and Keonte Logan had six rebounds each for the Saints.

The Saints, currently no. 2 in the conference, will battle the no. 1 team - Texas Wesleyan University. The battle for the top seed will take place on Jan. 30 at 4 p.m. in Mabee Gymnasium.
