The Our Lady of the Lake University Saints women's basketball team took on Langston University on Saturday afternoon and lost 72-84. The Lions, the no. 1 team in the conference, dominated the game and gave the Saints their sixth loss in conference play (10-12 overall), while they improved to 12-0 and 14-6 overall.
The Saints scored first on a two-pointer by Krystal Manning at 19:31. A three-pointer by Lions' Sanetra Jackson at 18:00 gave them the lead for the rest of the game. The Saints would come within one point, and trail by as much as 20 before the half ended at 34-50. Shooting for the Saints was at 31% from the field compared to 62.1% for the Lions during the first half.
The second half was not much better for the Saints as they came within 10 points but the Lions quickly regained their considerable lead through the end of the game.
The Saints finished the game with a shooting percentage from the field of 36.6% and 64% from the free-throw line. Kenisha McDade was the Saints high scorer with 23, while Jackson led for the Lions with 29 points.
OLLU will travel to Hawkins, Texas, on Monday to play Jarvis Christian University and return home to play on Thursday against Huston-Tillotson University.
