In their first tournament of the spring, the Saints finished in third place in the 11th Annual Sen. Eddie Lucio Collegiate Invitational Golf Tournament Monday at the South Padre Island Golf Club. Saints freshman Aaron Flores finished in no. 1 place with an opening round score of 69 and a 73 on Monday for a two-day score of 142. Flores finished the final four holes with a par-birdie-birdie-par and took home the medalist plaque.
   
The Saints finished with a team score of 315 on Monday after an opening round of 299 for a 614 total. The University of Texas at Brownsville captured first place with a total score of 603. Trinity University came in second with a total score of 613. Rounding out the slate were the Universityof the Southwest, 617; UT Brownsville ("B" team) 656; and Texas A&M International University, 676.
 
Finishing in tie for eighth place for OLLU were Adam Palacio (73-82/155) and Jacob Torres (77-78/155). Arnold Martinez ended in 19th place (8--82/162).
 
The Saints will compete in the Shreiner University Invitational on March 1-2 in Kerrville, Texas.
