The Saints men's basketball team suffered a heartbreaking 87-85 loss to Texas Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth. The team closes out its season in a tie for first place with TWU with conference records of 16-4. OLLU's overall record is 19-10 while TWU's is 22-8.
 
The Saints will gear up for the Red River Athletic Conference Championship Tournament that begins on March 4 as the no. 2 seed right behind TWU. The Saints are scheduled to play at 6 p.m.
   
Robert Martinez finished with 26 points for the Saints making nine of 16 field goals, six of 11 3-pointers and two of two free throws. Dionelle Rucker contributed 16 points and eight rebounds. Curtis Bowens Jr. chipped in 13 points and six assists.
 
The team made 25 of 58 field goals (.431), 12 of 24 3-pointers (.500) and 23 of 26 free throws (.885).
 

Jamel White for Texas Wesleyan finished with 24 points.
