The Saints softball team remains undefeated in conference play after 8-4 and 4-0 victories against Northwood University on Feb. 27. The Saints are 8-0 and 10-2 overall, while Northwood drops to 2-2 in the conference.
 
Dawn Villegas secured the first win for the Saints. She pitched an inning and a half, giving up one hit and striking out one on six at bats. Tiffany Stritz started the game and gave up six hits on 22 at bats.
 
Brooke Hernandez drove in two runs on two hits. Andrea Porter had three hits and one RBI. Others getting hits include Samantha Guerrero, Dawn Villegas, Corina Noel, Kaitlyn Bourg and Maria Flores.
 
Kailyn Miller earned the win for the second game. She pitched all seven innings and gave up just one hit and struck out five on 23 at bats.
 
Hernandez had two RBIs, and scoring runs were Guerrero, Noel, Ashley Elizalde and Bourg on hits from Porter, Hernandez, Noel and Bourg.
 
The Saints will travel to Victoria on Tuesday to play the University of Houston in a non-conference doubleheader. They return to play at home next Saturday, March 6, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. against Texas College.
