The OLLU Saints Men's Golf Team traveled to Abilene, Texas, earlier this week to compete in the Abilene Christian University Charles Coody West Texas Tournament.

Playing his first tournament as an OLLU Saint, freshman Aaron Flores fared extremely well in his debut placing 7th in a group of 76 golfers from throughout the country. His two-day total was 71/69--140.
 
Junior Jacob Torres placed 20th with a score of 71/73--144. 
 
Senior Arnold Martinez came in 27th place with a score of 72/73--145.
 
Sophomore Adam Palacios scored 79/71--150 and finished in 48th place, and freshman Larry Lopez finished in 53rd place with a score of 74/77--151.
 
OLLU as a team was ranked 6th out of 15 teams.
 
Other teams competing included: Abilene Christian University, SE Oklahoma State University, Dallas Baptist University, Texas A&M University -- Commerce, SW Oklahoma State University, East Central University, West Texas A&M University, Newman University, Texas Wesleyan University, Midwestern State University, Cameron University, St. Mary's University and the University of the Incarnate Word.
The NAIA Champions of Character program aims to instill five core values in NAIA athletes, coaches: respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
