Alyssa Posadas received the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for March 22-28, while teammate, Dawn Villegas, was recognized with the RRAC Pitcher of the Week honor for the same dates.
Posadas, a sophomore right fielder from Mercedes, Texas, went 10-for-13 at the plate in a 5-1 week for the Saints. She was 7-for-8 with a home run and three RBIs in a double-header sweep of Langston University. She added a second homer on Sunday to help OLLU split with Bacone College with a 5-2 win in the second game of a double-header. Posadas scored eight runs and collected four RBIs on the week as the RRAC-leading Saints moved to 17-3 in conference play and 21-9 on the season.
| Villegas, a freshman pitcher from San Marcos, Texas, earned two wins with a perfect ERA last week. She tossed a complete-game, five-hit shutout for an 11-0 victory over Huston-Tillotson University. Villegas followed with a three-hitter to earn the win over Bacone on Sunday while striking out seven. She finished the week with 11 strikeouts and two walks. |

Posadas is a transfer student from Howard College and is majoring in communication disorders. Villegas attended San Marcos High School and is a kinesiology major at OLLU.
