OLLU freshman Dawn Villegas, along with Alex Ramirez of Bacone College, received the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for April 5-11, while OLLU's Tiffany Stritz captured the Softball Pitcher of the Week honors.

ith a pair of home runs in a doubleheader split with Texas Wesleyan University. She hit a two-run and three-run homer to drive in all of the Saints' runs in a 7-5 loss in the opener. Villegas added two more hits and two RBIs as OLLU won the second game, 7-1. Villegas attended San Marcos High School and is majoring in kinesiology at OLLU.
Stritz, a junior pitcher from Houston, earned the win in the second game against TWU by going seven innings, allowing one unearned run, eight hits with two strikeouts and one walk. Stritz is a transfer student from Texarkana College and is majoring in education at OLLU.
The Saints are in second place at 18-6 in the RRAC and 23-13 on the season.
