SAN ANTONIO (May 24, 2010) -- The Saints men's basketball team participated in the spring clinic sponsored by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC). The clinic, held last Thursday and Friday at Municipal Auditorium in downtown San Antonio, was attended by more than 2,000 men's and women's basketball coaches from throughout the state.
The clinic brings together college coaches and other experts from all over the country to share their expertise on various basketball subjects. Members of the Saints team, including Justin Porter, Dionelle Rucker and Alex Tomic, demonstrated various plays while the following head coaches and experts spoke: Bob Huggins of West Virginia University; Brett Ledbetter, Footwork; Bill Self, Kansas University; Buzz Williams, Marquette University; and Scott Drew from Baylor University.
Saints Head Men's Basketball Coach Russell Vanlandingham and Assistant Coach Corey Cornish also participated in the clinic. Vanlandingham said, "This was a great opportunity for Our Lady of the Lake University to be in front of so many coaches from throughout the state. It was a valuable recruiting effort for both the university and athletics."
