ALEXANDRIA, LA. (Jan. 21, 2017) — Julia Rendon (JR/San Antonio, Texas) set a new Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's basketball single-game record for most threes in a game to lead the Saints to a 123-66 win over LSU-Alexandria (LSUA).
The Saints improve to 13-7 overall and 8-1 in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC), while LSUA drops to 5-8 overall and 3-6 in conference.
The Saints trail LSU-Shreveport in RRAC standings as the Pilots remain undefeated with a 9-0 record and 13-6 overall.
The No. 18-ranked Saints are 5-0 against the Generals. Last season the Saints won 89-52 and 88-70.
Julia Rendon paced the Saints as she sanked her first three to start the game. She took six more shots from 3-point range and made three. Jessika Montalvo (SR/Naples, Fla.) was the first period's leading scorer with 10 points as the Saints led 30-19.
Rendon made three more threes in the second quarter as the Saints continued to dominate the Generals into a 31-point lead for the half-time break.
The Saints never trailed throughout all four quarters. Rendon added four threes in the third quarter as the Saints jumped to a 42-point lead to begin the fourth quarter. The Saints led by as much as 61 points to finish out the game.
The Saints missed scoring their most points in a single game by six — two years ago, OLLU defeated Paul Quinn 129-36. Julia Rendon finished with 32 points — the second most in Saints women's basketball history. She made 10-of-15 from 3-point range and 2-of-2 free throws. She added four assists and two steals.
Annie Lenoir (FR/Brady, Texas) scored 15 points -- 4-of-5 from the field, including 3-of-3 from 3-point range and 4-of-4 free throws. Alyssa Ward (SR/Palmeto, Fla.) added 14 points, while Quintianna LeShore (JR/Indianapolis, Ind.) finished with 12 and Jessika Montalvo with 11. LeShore and Francesca Patrick (JR/Killeen, Texas) added eight assists each, and Montalvo had five steals.
LSUA's Katie Lemieux scored 17 points, and teammates Kayla Morgan added 12 and Jonika Walton, 10.

The Saints hit 56 percent from the field going 44-of-79 and 18-of-32 from 3-point range for 56 percent. They sank 17-of-25 from the charity stripe for 68 percent.
The Generals hit 33 percent from the field going 21-of-63 and 3-of-12 from 3-point range for 25 percent. They sank 21-of-32 from the free-throw line for 65 percent.
The Saints out-rebounded the Generals 48-40. They forced 29 turnovers and committed 24 fouls. The Generals forced 22 turnovers and committed 22 fouls.
The Saints will continue their conference schedule on the road as they travel to Houston on Jan. 26 to play the University of St. Thomas at 5:30 p.m.
Our Lady of the Lake University is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016-2017 as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The University began competing in the NAIA in men's soccer and volleyball in 2007. A year later, they added women's soccer, golf and tennis. In 2009, the Saints began competing in cross-country, softball and basketball. In 2014, OLLU added two more sports — baseball and track and field. There are now 13 intercollegiate athletic teams at OLLU. All athletic alumni and up to two family members will receive free admission to basketball and volleyball games throughout the season. Baseball is not included in this special offer. All other home games are free and open to the public.
