Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) place sixth in the Northeastern State University Men's Golf Classic at The Emerald Falls Golf & Country Club on Sept. 22 in Tulsa, Okla. The match was delayed on Monday due to inclement weather.
OLLU Freshman Aaron Flores finished in fourth place out of a slate of 82 golfers. He shot a 76 in the first round and a 72 in the second round with a final score of 148. Flores is a graduate of Holy Cross High School, where he made All-District and All-State all four years.
Arnold Martinez shot a 79/74 and placed 16. Martinez, a senior, also attended Holy Cross High School. Tying Martinez was Alice, Texas, native Adam Palacios, who shot a 74/79. Placing in 62nd place was Jacob Torres who shot 84/80, and coming in 66th place was Larry Lopez who shot 82/83.
Central Missouri University placed first in the contest; Northeastern State University placed second; and St. Mary's University placed third. The rest of the schools are as follows:
