SAN ANTONIO (Aug. 18, 2010) -- Our Lady of the Lake University announced the addition of Coral Salazar to its 2010-2011 softball team. Salazar is a graduate of Sandra Day O'Connor in San Antonio's Northside Independent School District.
   
While in high school, she made the Dean's List and finished with a 3.0 GPA.  Salazar will participate as a pitcher, third baseman and first baseman. At OLLU, she plans to major in criminal justice.   
OLLU began competing in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in softball in 2009-2010. The Saints were picked to finish fifth out of eight teams in pre-season polls conducted by the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC). The team finished its regular season one game behind top-ranked Texas Wesleyan University with an overall record of 28-14 and a conference record of 22-6.
The NAIA Champions of Character program aims to instill five core values in NAIA athletes, coaches: respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship. Our Lady of the Lake University shares and supports these values and strives to promote the Champions of Character program by working with students, coaches through our Champions of Character educational program.
