SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 6, 2018) – Head Coach Christopher Minner won his 150th game after his Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's basketball team defeated the University of the Southwest (USW) 104-60. The Saints improve to 6-0 in the Red River Athletic Conference and 12-5 overall, while the Mustangs drop to 0-6 in conference and 1-12 overall.
Minner, who took over the head-coaching duties in the 2012-2013 season after being assistant coach from the inaugural season of 2009-2010 through 2012. His overall collegiate record at OLLU is 150-33.
The Saints are 16-1 against Southwest. Their only loss came in 2010.
OLLU's Destinee King (JR/Antelope, Calif.) made the first basket of the game, and she was followed by a 3-pointer from USW's Desiree Garza to give the Mustangs the 3-2 lead, their only one of the game. Quintianna LeShore (SR/Indianapolis, Ind.) scored to move the Saints to 4-3. The Mustangs were only able to put 10 points on the board in the first quarter, and the Saints closed out the period with the 23-10 lead with Nakia Page (SR/Bakersfield, Calif.) pacing all scorers with nine points.
At the seven-minute mark in the second quarter, Alexis Oaks (SO/College Station, Texas)' free throw gave the Saints their first 20-plus lead of the game. They maintained that advantage through the rest of the period to end the half with the 48-24 lead. Kasey Saldana (SO/San Antonio, Texas)'s three 3-pointers and two free throws put her ahead on the scoreboard with 11 points for the Saints.
In the third quarter, Rachel Baity (SR/San Jose, Calif.)'s field goal gave the Saints their first 30-plus lead near the seven-minute mark. The Saints closed out the period with the 75-41 lead. LeShore took over as the Saints' leading scorer with 15 points.
Saldana made two more threes, and Francesca Patrick (SR/Killeen, Texas) scored 15 points in the fourth quarter. Patrick's field goal gave the Saints their first 40-plus lead with less than five minutes remaining in the game. They went up by a game-high 47 after a shot from Olivia Harolds (FR/Houston, Texas). Brianna Henson (JR/Dunlap, Ill.)'s 3-pointer ended the game with the Saints winning 104-60.
Saldana led the Saints in scoring with 19 points. She went 6-for-15 from the field, including 5-of-10 from 3-point range, and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. Patrick added 18, LeShore, 15 and Alexis Oaks, 11.
USW's Aaliyah Wheatfall scored 12 points, while Desiree Garza added 11 and Jasmine Stansell, 10.
Destinee King led the Saints in rebounding with 10. USW's Naomi Solsberry and Mykal Thomas recorded six rebounds each.
Rachel Baity and LeShore recorded five assists each, and Oaks tallied three steals for the Saints. USW's Catarina Garcia added four assists, while Wheatfall and Stansell finished with three steals each.

OLLU combined for 36-of-77 shooting for 46.75 percent, 9-of-22 from beyond the arc for 40.91 percent, and 23-of-29 from the charity stripe for 79.31 percent. USW was 17-of-47 for 36.17 percent, 1-of-7 in 3-point attempts for 14.29 percent, and 25-of-36 free throws for 69.44 percent.
OLLU collected 39 total rebounds, while USW tallied 34. OLLU forced 30 turnovers and committed 16.
The Saints will travel to Austin next for a conference game against Huston-Tillotson University on Jan. 10.
