MARSHALL, TEXAS (April 20-21, 2018) - For the first time in Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) history, the Saints women's track and field team captured the Red River Athletic Conference title with a total of 215 points.
Head Coach Stephen Sherman commented, "The women put together one of the better team efforts I have ever been a part of. It's clear to me that we were truly aligned with the goal of winning this championship. To be sure, it's the most well-rounded effort we have ever put together. We won with distance runners, we won with sprinters, we won with hurdlers, and we won with jumpers. I really could not be much more proud of what we've been able to build at OLLU. That being said, Coach Terry Smith deserves a lot of credit for his part in all of this, and of course it begins and ends with the athletes themselves. I'll always remember this one."

Sherman said, There was a lot to be proud about in today's performances from our men and women. Every athlete in our group went all in and should be celebrated. Simply put it was a great day for OLLU Track and Field."
