SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 8, 2018) – The Our Lady of the University (OLLU) women's cross-country team finished in third place out of five teams in the 2018 OLLU Invite. The fourth annual event was held at Mission Del Lago Golf Course.
Head Coach Stephen Sherman said, "Annie (Trejo) and Sabrina (Garcia) did their thing again today. They are really starting to work well with one another. To be quite honest, though, it was a mixed bag for the women overall. The team result certainly was not a bad one, but we'll need to continue to work to get at least a couple of more women up closer to where Annie and Sabrina are running."
Annie Trejo (JR/Park City, Utah) ran the 5k in 19:46.4. Sabrina Garcia (FR/Brownsville, Texas) came in sixth place with a time of 19:55.5, followed by Andrea Gandara (SO/Kaufman, Texas) at 21:56.5, Sarah Taylor (SR/Austin, Texas) at 22:41.2, Audren Pineda (FR/Brownsville, Texas) at 24:23.1, Peyton Lammons (FR/Prosper, Texas) at 25:35.0 and Amairanie Villarreal at 26:00.6.
Capturing this year's team title was Trinity University, followed by Texas A&M International University. After OLLU were Southwestern University and Concordia University – Texas. Molly McCullough of Trinity earned the individual title with a time of 18:45.1.
The Saints will get set for the Saints Collegiate Cross Country Invitational that will be hosted by OLLU on Sept. 22 at the Windcrest Golf Club.
