WACO, TEXAS (March 5, 2019) -- Aundrea Culliver of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) earned recognition as the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week for Feb. 25-March 3, and OLLU's Clayton Townsend was tabbed as the RRAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the same dates. This is the first set of weekly track & field awards for the 2019 outdoor season.
Culliver finished in sixth place in three separate events at the Trinity Open in San Antonio on Saturday. The junior from Round Top, Texas, sprinted to times of 12.80 in the 100-Meter Dash against 26 competitors and 26.10 in the 200 against 24. Culliver also leaped to a distance of 4.89 meters in the Long Jump in a field of 14 athletes.
Townsend placed third in the men's 110-Meter Hurdles at the Trinity Open. The junior from San Antonio posted a time of 16.05 in a field of 11 racers. Townsend also placed ninth in the 400-Meter Hurdles with a time of 1:02.87.
