SAN ANTONIO (March 13, 2019) – Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) has announced that Cross-Country/Track and Field Head Coach Stephen Sherman will add Assistant Athletic Director to his title. Sherman, who began the cross-country program at OLLU in 2009 and the track and field program in 2014, will work with Athletic Director Shane Hurley in a variety of projects, including completing the NAIA end-of-year report and the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act report.
Hurley commented, "I am excited for Coach Sherman and for our department. He is eager, ambitious and honest; there is no doubt that he will bring success to the position and work well to represent the OLLU community as a coach and an administrator.
He will coordinate home-game management as well as performance management, budget planning, equipment management and act as the final authority for all expenditures. His main duties will involve managing and reconciling the budgets for the athletic department and all teams.
"I have been a part of athletics at OLLU nearly from the very beginning, and consequently I have had a hand in and been a beneficiary of the growth and success that has come of it," Sherman said. "I genuinely and simply want to help make sure that we continue to progress in the right direction. With that being said, I appreciate everyone who was involved in the decision for believing that I can in fact help to do just that. I also want to thank all of the personnel, especially coaches, whom I have been in the trenches with at OLLU for a decade of support and camaraderie."
