KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (March 25, 2019) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's track and field team participated in the Texas A&M University – Kingsville Cactus Cup this past weekend.
Head Coach Stephen Sherman said, "It was bit of a mixed bag I suppose. I think as a group we got caught up with worrying about certain perceptions and with some adversity, and I think we failed to appreciate the opportunity that was in front of us. Getting to compete against DI RGV and two of the best DII track and field programs in the country in Kingsville and Angelo was an honor, but instead I felt like we acted like we would rather be a lot of other places. To be sure it's mostly my fault for not framing the meet properly in the first place. Despite that, however, we did have some quality results."
Results are below.
|Victoria De La Cruz||400m||1:04.82||5th|
|Miki Romain||100m H||14.95||2nd|
|Quintianna LeShore||Long Jump||4.90m||7th|
|Aundrea Culliver||Long Jump||5.06m||5th|
Sherman said about Miki Romain, "She's two for two now. She qualified the first time out for indoor in the 60 hurdles, and now she qualified the first time out for outdoor in the 100 hurdles. I guess that's to be expected now. It's definitely time to go after All-American now."
The women will travel next to Austin for the University of Texas - Texas Relays March 28-30.
