KANSAS CITY, MO. (May 20, 2019) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the official final rosters and entry lists for all qualifiers for the 2019 Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
Representing Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) in the national championships will be Miki Romain (JR/Round Rock, Texas) – her second trip to nationals. Earlier this season, Romain made her second trip to the indoor national championships.
Romain, who is ranked 18 in her qualifying event, the 100m hurdles, said "Going in ranked 18th is a blessing in itself, but I definitely think I have a good chance of reaching my goal of top eight. I've received nothing but love and motivation from my family and friends and amazing coaching from Coach Terry Smith and Coach Stephen Sherman. As a junior, I've come to realize that the remaining time I have as an OLLU athlete is running short, and with that said, I think both of my coaches agree that it's time to make history."
Approximately 116 schools will be represented at the 2019 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Romain is competing in the 100m hurdles, concluded "I am so thrilled to be given the opportunity to compete at the national level again. From the 5:45 a.m. practices to the long days traveling, I wouldn't have it any other way. All of the things I've endured this past year has led me to where I am, and I am more than ready to compete on Friday."
