SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 4, 2019) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer team won its first overtime game of the regular season 2-1 against University of St. Thomas – Houston. They improved to 3-2 on the season.
The Saints trailed 1-0 late in the second period when St. Thomas was called for a rough tackle and shown a yellow card. This led to a successful penalty kick by Bernard Alvarenga to tie the game 1-1 in the 78th minute. Guillermo Serrano was the overtime hero with a goal five minutes into the extra period, leading to a 2-1 win for the Saints. Samuel Villegas picked up his first assist of the season on the game winning goal.

Leading the way for the Saints' offense was Luan Balesteri with three shots. Luis Bencomo led the Celts with four shots.
