SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 9, 2019) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer team went to double overtime for the first time this season, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw against Wayland Baptist University (WBU).
Head Coach Shane Hurley said, "I think the guys brought a really good attitude to the game. They are a good opponent. They are always very physical and some players who can play clean ball. We had to come out and work in a high tempo and maintain it. I thought our bench came in and played well."
The Saints were led by Norberto Lira (SO/San Antonio, Texas), who had four shots, hitting the crossbar for a potential one-goal lead late in the second half. OLLU had three offensive chances in the final eight minutes of the second half to take the lead. Keelin Garrity (SO/Katy, Texas) recorded 10 saves for the Saints and played the entire 110 minutes. WBU was shown three out of the four yellow cards throughout the match.

Leading the way for the Saints' offense was Lira with four shots. Luan Balestieri followed with three shots. Adir Versano and Jose Hincapie each had three shots for the Pioneers.
Overall, the Saints tallied 13 shots, seven on goal. WBU recorded 16 shots, 10 on goal.
OLLU starting keeper Keelin Garrity tallied 10 saves and played the duration of the game.
WBU's Nick Ramos was shown a yellow card at the 41st minute for rough behavior.
WBU's Hector Romero was shown a yellow card at the 64th minute for a rough tackle.
