WACO, TEXAS (Sept. 10, 2019) - Bailei Hubbard (JR/Helotes, Texas) of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) garnered the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week honor for Sept. 2-8, while OLLU's Anissa Tamez (JR/San Antonio, Texas) was tabbed as the RRAC Setter of the Week. This is the third set of conference awards for the 2019 volleyball season.
Hubbard lifted the Saints to a pair of victories last week with 3.5 kills per set. The junior middle blocker accounted for 28 kills on 53 total attacks with 11 errors (.321 hitting percentage). Hubbard compiled 17 kills, delivering in key moments in OLLU's 3-1 victory over Wayland Baptist University (WBU). The native of Helotes, Texas, is second in the RRAC in kills per set (3.2) and hitting percentage (.327). The Saints climbed to 6-1 on the season.
Tamez provided another strong week as OLLU took first at the WBU Tournament. The junior setter posted a season-high 47 assists against WBU, and she achieved a season high for digs with 15 in a 3-1 triumph over Mid-America Christian University. Tamez averaged 9.9 assists per set with 79 total in the two matches. The native of San Antonio is tops in the RRAC and 17th nationally in total assists with 255 for the season. This is her third consecutive Setter of the Week award.
