SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 26, 2019) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer team pulled out a 3-2 overtime victory over Texas A&M – Texarkana (TAMUT) to win its second overtime match this season. The Saints are now 1-0 in Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) play.
The Saints fended off a comeback effort by the Eagles late in the second half. Gustavo Borba (JR/Blumenau, Santa Catarina, Brazil) scored two goals within five minutes of each other to give the Saints an early 2-0 lead. Guillermo Serrano assisted on one and the other one was unassisted. Texarkana scored in the 83rd minute to cut the lead in half and then took advantage of a penalty kick to tie the game 2-2. The penalty kick was a result of a red card being shown to Miguel Sanchez (JR/San Antonio, Texas). Samuel Villegas (FR/San Antonio, Texas) was the overtime hero for the Saints, scoring just two minutes into the extra frame, with an assist from Carlos Cabrera. Goalie Joseph Baker (FR/Llantwit Major, Wales, U.K.) was in net for the entire match.
