AUSTIN, TEXAS (Oct. 19, 2019) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) volleyball team lost to Huston-Tillotson University (HTU) 3-1 on Saturday. The Saints drop to 14-5 on the season and 6-3 in Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) play. The Rams improve to 19-5 overall and 8-1 in the RRAC, which puts them in first place.,
Head Coach Scott Mattera commented on the loss, saying, "After a slow start in game one, we started figuring out how to avoid their blocks a bit more and really played even with them the rest of the way. Games two, three and four all could have gone either way… that's volleyball. We're gearing up for a big stretch run and these past two matches have shown us a lot we can learn from. It's our choice now how we respond!"
The Saints played a close match by only losing the second, third and fourth set by seven total points. HTU took control of the match with a 25-15 first set win and didn't look back after that. The Saints have lost back-to-back conference matches for the first time this season.
