
SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 4, 2019) - The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's soccer team captured its fifth Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) regular-season title and will head out to the postseason tournament this week as the No. 1 seed.
The Saints have qualified for the postseason 10 out of their 12 seasons. Aside from five conference trophies, the Saints have also earned four conference tournament plaques after winning four consecutive tournaments – their last in 2016.
OLLU is the winningest team in the conference with four titles. Former RRAC team University of Texas at Brownsville, who left the conference in 2014, also has four wins.
As the top seed, the Saints took the opening round of the postseason off and will play LSU-Shreveport (LSUS) in the semifinals on Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. The final two rounds of the tournament are being hosted by Texas A&M University –Texarkana in Texarkana, Texas.
With a win in the semifinals, the Saints advance to the tournament championships to play either LSU-Alexandria (LSUA) or the University of the Southwest on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m.

The Saints finished out the regular season with a 10-4-1 overall record and 7-2 in conference. They won their last three conference matches against LSUA – 2-0, LSUS-2-0 and the University of Houston-Victoria-4-1.
Statistically, the Saints averaged 2.73 goals per game and tallied 41 total goals. They averaged 1.47 assists per game and recorded the third-most in the conference with 22. The team averaged 19.33 shots per game with a total of 290 shots. The Saints are tops in shots on goal per game with 12.20. The Saints also had the most shutouts of with nine.
Sophomore Dawson Brinkley (SO/San Antonio, Texas), last year's Conference Newcomer and Offensive Player of the Year, continued her success. She is second in the conference in goals per game with 1.07/15 and fourth in points per game with 1.47/22. Brinkley is fourth all-time in goals for the Saints with 31. She is also the team's leader in most goals in a season with 21 and most shots with 77, and she is second in game-winning goals with seven. This year, she had the most shots on goal in a game with eight.
This season's team leaders include: Brinkley – shots (39), shots on goal (26); Jaylin Seto (SO/Houston, Texas) – assists (6); Savannah Hernandez (JR/El Paso, Texas) – saves (41), record (7-3-1), shutouts (2).
