SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 4, 2019) - The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) cross-country teams will host the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championships on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Windcrest Golf Club in Windcrest, Texas.
The women's teams will run the 5k first beginning at 8:30 a.m. The men will follow at 9:30 a.m. for the 8k.
After the meet, OLLU will present awards to the team champions and runners-up and the All-RRAC Runners, which is comprised of the top 10 finishers. Also awarded will be the Runners of the Year (individual winners), Freshmen of the Year (highest freshmen individual finisher) and Coaches of the Year (winning coaches) plaques.
The women's team first won the conference meet in 2013 and repeated in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Last season, the University of the Southwest captured the women's title, with the Saints as runners-up. Top 10 Saints finishers Andrea Gandara (SR/Kaufman, Texas) and Annie Trejo qualified as individuals for the NAIA National Meet.
Women's teams participating include Jarvis Christian College, OLLU, Paul Quinn College, the University of the Southwest and Texas College.
On the men's side, the Saints first won the conference meet in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Last year's seniors Nathaniel Aguilar and Derek Barnett, as well as current team member Jose Zarate (SO/San Antonio, Texas) finished in the top 10 and received all-conference honors. The team qualified for the NAIA National Meet.
Men's teams participating include Huston-Tillotson University, Jarvis Christian College, OLLU, Paul Quinn College, the University of the Southwest and Texas College.
