TEXARKANA, TEXAS (Nov. 8, 2019) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer concluded their 2019 season with a loss against LSU-Shreveport (LSUS) in the semifinals of the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Tournament 0-3. The Saints finish the season 11-6-2 overall and 6-2-1 in conference play.
Coach Shane Hurley commented on the match saying, "We missed too many good opportunities and controlled too much of the game and better chances to not have scored at least a couple goals. In the end, the biggest let down was from those who should have been here to help."
The Saints started position player Raul Posadas (SR/Laredo, Texas) in goal with both goalies being unavailable to play. The Pilots started the scoring early with a goal by Alan Acuna off a blocked shot. LSUS pulled ahead 2-0 just two minutes into the second half and scored again at the 88th minute to seal the 3-0 victory. Both teams recorded six shots on goal, and the Saints tallied five corner kicks, one more than the Pilots.
