
SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 26, 2020) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf team finished play at the San Antonio Shootout yesterday and placed eighth out of 16 teams.
Head Coach Arnie Martinez said, "The team had a tough challenge this week at TPC San Antonio. The wind was blowing hard both days and the scores collectively were high. We still have work to do on improving our games as a whole. I like the fight our guys put up. We take pride in playing every round with character and giving it our all. We have a great group of guys and I'm confident we will be where we need to be in April for conference play. Go Saints!"
Wayland Baptist University finished in first place with a total of 893. They were followed by Texas Wesleyan University at 929, Morningside College at 935, Houston-Victoria at 937, Truett-McConnell at 942, Johnson & Wales at 943, Southwestern Christian University at 951, OLLU at 961, Grand View University and University of the Southwest at 977, Schreiner University at 979, Texas Wesleyan (B) at 983, St. Thomas and Kansas Wesleyan University at 988, Southwestern College at 994 and Sterling College at 1050.
Kane Ybarra (SR/San Antonio, Texas) led the Saints with a total of 236. Diego Garcia (SO/Guadalajara, Mexico) followed at 244, Joshua Sturt (SO/Portsmouth, U.K.) and Raul Gutierrez (SO/San Antonio, Texas) at 246 and Diego Ibarra (FR/Eagle Pass, Texas) at 247.
The Saints will compete in the Schreiner Invitational in Kerrville, Texas starting on March 9.
