KERRVILLE, TEXAS (March 11, 2020) - The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf team finished in sixth place out of 11 teams at the Schreiner Spring Shootout at Comanche Trace Golf Club yesterday. 

Head Coach Arnie Martinez said, "The guys struggled a little bit this tournament. It was raining most of the first day and the wind was up. I liked how they continued to put forth great effort. They battled back on the second day and really showed their character. You learn more in your failures than you do in your success. We will identify our weaknesses and continue to work. I'm excited for the future. Go Saints!"

Concordia University finished in first place with a total of 580. They were followed by Trinity University at 590, California Lutheran at 591, Mary Hardin-Baylor at 607, University of Dallas at 608, Our Lady of the Lake University at 613, University of the Southwest at 613, Hardin-Simmons University at 618, University of St. Thomas at 621 and Howard Payne University at 632.

Diego Garcia (SO/Guadalajara, Mexico) led the Saints with a total of 147. Raul Gutierrez (SO/San Antonio, Texas) followed at 150, Kane Ybarra (SR/San Antonio, Texas) at 155, Daniel Jones (SO/Comfort, Texas) at 159, Massimo Garcia (FR/Laredo, Texas) at 164 and Joshua Sturt (SO/Portsmouth, U.K.) at 166.

The Saints will compete in the Big Texan Invitational in Kerrville, Texas starting on March 24.
