SAN ANTONIO (June 30, 2020) – Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) held its inaugural competitive cheer and dance team signing day earlier this month.
Head Coach Crystal Brock commented, "We had 13 athletes sign on June 13 at our signing day committing to our OLLU Saints Spirit Family. Each student-athlete is eager to begin working on creating a legacy of which OLLU faculty, staff and alumni will be proud. Each athlete has a passion to motivate and represent Saints athletics with dignity, class and sportsmanship."
Among the 13 who signed was freshman Skylar Lloyd. She will join the Competitive Cheer team and is from Eagle River, Alaska. Lloyd attended Brennan High School in San Antonio and was a two-time All-American and three-time national champion. She received the NCA individual leadership award and earned AP Scholar with honors.
Her hobbies are playing in the orchestra, running, reading and fishing. Derek Redmond is her athletic role model and her favorite motto is "Be happy, not because everything is good, but because you can see the good in everything."
(Profiles of others who were signed will be posted daily.)
