VANCOUVER, WASH. (Nov. 20, 2010) -- Sophomore
Miriam Vazquez qualified for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women's Cross-Country National Championship for the second time as an individual. The 31st annual event took place at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash., on Nov. 20. Vazquez ran a 21:37 for 282/333. Her time was a minute faster and 22 spots higher than last year.
Vazquez was the second highest finisher from the Red River Athletic Conference. There were 10 total runners from the RRAC.
"Miriam had a pretty good day. Any time you run a minute or so faster on a course from one year to the next, there really isn't anything to complain about," said Coach Stephen Sherman. "She ran well and consequently represented OLLU very well. I am extremely proud of her."
