OLLU women's basketball suffers loss to Texas College

TYLER, TEXAS (Jan. 31, 2011) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University women's basketball ended its East Texas road trip Monday evening with a 101-93 loss to Texas College.
The Saints are now 9-5 and in third place in the Red River Athletic Conference behind first place Langston University (12-1) and second-place Texas Wesleyan University (11-3) and Southwestern Assemblies of God University (11-3). Texas College improves to 6-7 in the conference.
Stacey Darnley surpassed her previously set career high 29 points from Saturday afternoon to score 32 points for the Saints against Texas. She made 10 of 24 field goals including seven of 18 3-pointers, and five of six free throws.
Keke McDade scored 19 points for the Saints, and contributed six assists. Krystal Manning ended with 12 points. Jasmine Fuller was the team leader in rebounding with eight.
Overall, the Saints shot 35% from the field, 33% from the 3-point line and 70% from free-throw range.
Leading Texas in scoring was British Thomas, who finished with 29 points.
OLLU returns home to play the University of Southwest on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. The Saints beat USW 81-60 on Dec. 2. The team's record is 3-10 in the conference and 5-14 overall.
