The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's soccer team took little time to score its first goal Thursday afternoon. Once they did, they never looked back on their way to a 4-0 victory over the Bacone College Warriors.

The win secures the Saints' second place position in the Red River Athletic Conference, just one game behind co-leaders, Northwood University and the University of Texas at Brownsville, whom the Saints tied in double-overtime earlier this month.

The Saints dominated possession from the start, and five minutes into the game, sophomore forward Amanda Bonds collected a pass from fellow sophomore forward Hannah Collazo and tucked it into the back of the net to give the Saints a 1-0 advantage. The Saints nearly scored again when freshman midfielder Abby Dulaney had a pair of opportunities denied by the woodwork; first a 24-yard rocket that hit the crossbar, then an 18-yard shot that struck the left post.

In the 19th minute, freshman midfielder Amanda Lozano settled a 30-yeard pass from sophomore defender Melissa O'Brien and side-stepped the Bacone goalkeeper to push the score to 2-0. Six minutes later, Collazo added to the lead with an unassisted goal to make the score 3-0.

The Saints added a fourth goal when senior forward Christine Walker redirected a cross from sophomore midfielder Tabytha Horseman with 12 minutes to play in the game.

Collazo led all Saints with five shots, one goal and one assist, while Bonds tallied three shots and one goal. Freshman goalkeeper Katherine Kirsch and junior goalkeeper Christi Oswalt combined to give the Saints their fourth shutout of the season.

The Saints' next game will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the OLLU soccer field when they face Texas College.
