Hannah Collazo had a successful weekend as she helped the Saints win two home games to improve their record to 6-5-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the Red River Athletic Conference. Aside from the goal and assist she had on Oct. 15, Collazo scored two goals on Oct. 17 against Texas College and she finished with a season high eight shots, five on goal.
The freshman forward leads the team in shots with 31 and shots on goal with 20.
Freshman Nikole Gase scored an unassisted goal in the 11th minute, and 10 minutes later, Collazo scored her first goal on an assist by Amanda Bonds. Collazo scored her second goal in the 25th minute of the first half. Texas College's Raven Piņa scored just after the beginning of the second half, and Gase followed with a perfectly executed corner kick that went straight into the post. Senior Christine Walker scored the Saints' last two goals, both assisted by freshman Jessica Molina, to give the Saints the 6-1 win.
The Saints outshot the Lady Steers 28-6.
Goal keeper Kat Kirsch who had no saves during the Oct. 17, has recorded 48 saves this year. She is ranked no. 3 in the conference.
