SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 10, 2011) -- Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) has received noticed that Tasha Yancey and Desirea Aguilar (pictured below) have been named to the first team of th
e Capital One Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Nominations for the awards are submitted by members of the association. News and Sports Information Officer Patty Constantin represents OLLU in the association.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at their positions. No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Yancey is a senior from San Antonio. She is a graduate of Marshall High School and is majoring in communications/public relations and minoring in psychology at OLLU.
Aguilar is a junior from Von Ormy, Texas, and attended Southwest High School in San Antonio. She is majoring in social work.
