HOBBS, N.M. (Jan. 23, 2012) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's basketball team completed its second victory over the Mustangs from the University of the Southwest Monday evening in Hobbs, N.M.  
 

Last night's 113-72 victory was one point different from the teams' first meeting on Saturday when the Saints beat Southwest 112-71 at home. The 113 points are the second most ever scored by the OLLU women's team – the most was 116 in 2009 against Southwest Adventist University.
 

The victory improves the Saints record to 11-2 in the Red River Athletic Conference and 16-3 overall, while Southwest drops to 1-12 in conference and 6-13 overall. OLLU is ½ game behind league-leader LSU-Shreveport (11-1/13-5) and tied with Langston University (11-2/17-2). Trailing in third place is Texas Wesleyan University (10-2/15-3).

 

The Saints shot 46-of-96 from the field (48 percent), 6-of-20 from 3-point range (30 percent) and 15-of-21 from the charity strip (71 percent). The team committed 16 turnovers and forced 28. 
 

The Lady Mustangs made 23-of-71 from the field (32 percent), 10-of-35 from 3-point range (29 percent) and 16-of-22 from the free-throw line (73 percent).
 

Nikkia Davis scored 21 points for the Saints, and she added three assists and six steals. Alisha Crump finished with 16 points and four assists. Both Treshenia Solomon and Arlene Cisneros scored 14 points, while Ali Bills and Jennifer Davison added 10 points each.
 

High scorer for the Mustangs was Simone Buckhanan, who finished with 17 points.
 

The Saints will travel to Marshall, Texas on Saturday to play Wiley College. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. The Saints won both games against Wiley during the 2009-2010 season, and split last season. Earlier this year, the Saints beat Wiley 97-92. Currently Wiley is 7-4 in conference and 11-5 overall.
