Junior middle blocker Kelsey Johnson, along with other students from the Marketing  3331 class taught by Dr. Velma Gooding and the Honors 2300 class taught by Norma Andrade, are leading a partnership project with the San Antonio Food Bank.

The Empty Bowls Project is being held to to help raise awareness about hunger issues that people face every day in San Antonio.

Some of the facts the groups of students discovered were that in San Antonio 1 in 5 people go hungry every day, 65% of the people that go hungry on a daily basis have children, and that for every dollar donated to the San Antonio Food Bank they can provide $13 worth of food to people who need it.

The OLLU Community is invited to come to the Empty Bowl Event and help raise awareness about hunger and raise money to help the San Antonio Food Bank.
