The OLLU Saints men's soccer team ended its season this evening with a loss to the University of Texas at Brownsville during the Red River Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. The game, played at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas, concluded at 1-2.

UT-Brownsville will represent the RRAC as the team advances to the NAIA tournament later this month

Saints goal keeper Luis Mancilla, in for starter Marco Herrera, who sat out today's competition, recorded six saves compared to UTB's three.

The Saints outshot the Scorpions in the first period 9-7, and were outshot by UTB 7-12 in the second half. Freshman Humberto Saenz led the Saints in shots with four, while Ramon Rodriguez, Tomas Flores, Ramiro Ramirez, Yared Temesgin and Octovio Herrera each had two.

UTB's Steve Howard put the first score on the record book during the 27th minute of the game from an assist by Robin Ejdeholm. The Scorpions' Aaron Guerrero followed during the 68th minute on an assist by Evans Frimpong. OLLU's Tomas Flores scored on a penalty kick during the 89th minute of the competition.

The Saints end their season with an impressive 12-7 record. The team was 6-1 at home and 5-5 away. In the RRAC, the team finished with an 8-3 record.
