FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS (May 3-5, 2012) --  The Our Lady of the Lake University softball team ended its season this afternoon after falling to Texas Wesleyan University in the Red River Athletic Conference Championship Game.

   

The Saints beat Northwood University on Thursday 2-1 to advance to the second round. On Friday, the Saints faced Texas Wesleyan University in the quarterfinals round, but lost 1-2 after nine innings of play.

On Saturday at noon, the Saints were paired up against Northwood in the semifinals round, and they won 2-0. The win earned the Saints a berth to the championship game against Texas Wesleyan, who had not lost a game. The Saints needed to beat the Rams twice in order to win the tournament. The Saints lost 2-5 and end their season with a 28-18 overall record and an 18-6 conference record.

Earlier on Saturday,the announcement of the members of the 2012 Red River Athletic Conference Softball All-Conference Team and individual award-winners as voted by the conference's coaches was made. The top 18 players in the conference were selected to the All-Conference Team regardless of position.

Senior Kaitlyn Bourg was selected as Player of the Year. All-Conference selectees from OLLU were the following:
Bourg and freshmen -- Maegan Ramirez, Brittany Stone and Ruby Ximenez.
