SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 5, 2012) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer team suffered a difficult loss Wednesday afternoon to Texas Lutheran University from Seguin. The NCAA Division III team beat the Saints 1-0.
OLLU drops to 0-2 for the season, while the Bulldogs improve to 2-1.
With just 31 seconds shaved off the clock, Saints' midfielder Ramiro Ramirez drove the ball down the field for a shot that went high. Two minutes later, the Bulldogs took a shot that Saints' goalkeeper Martin Hansson deflected for the save. Saints captain Luis Flores kicked the ball to the net, but TLU goalkeeper Jon Michael dove for the save. Michael saved another shot on goal, this time from freshman Giovanni Sierra. The Bulldogs took control of the ball and at the 11th minute, Zayne Ramirez found the net on an assist from Giovanni Silveyra. The one goal would prove enough for the Bulldogs to get the win.
