SEGUIN, TEXAS (Oct. 5-6, 2012) -- Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's tennis participated in the Third Annual Texas Lutheran University  Doc Skogman Invitational in Seguin on Friday and Saturday. The Saints won seven sets and lost 12 in singles and doubles matches. 

OLLU sophomore Matt Ellis had the best showing with a win in the Men's C Flight. He beat Felix Singer, USW, 6-3/6-1 to advance to the semifinals. There he defeated Daniel Vasquez, PV, 5-3/6-4. During the championship round, Ellis overpowered Matt Banner from St. Mary's University, 6-4/6-3 and was awarded the championship.

The Doc Skogman Invitational featured 16 schools, 29 combined women's and men's teams, and more than 200 individual competitors. Matches were contested across Seguin with courts used at TLU, Seguin High School, Jim Barnes Middle School, and Max Starcke Park. A combined 39 women's and men's singles and doubles draws were contested.
